What is Voice over IP (VoIP)?

Voice over IP, or VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is the transmission of voice traffic over Internet based networks towards an allocated IP address instead of towards conventional phone networks. One of the main advantages of VoIP technology is its low operation cost compared with conventional phone technology.

How does it work?

1. With IP technology, when dialing the number, the device connects to the Internet through a VoIP provider, which converts the data into sound and transfers it to the phone number that has been dialed.

2. After the provider transfers the data to the IP address, the person on the other side picks up the phone (it can be from a computer, mobile or telephone). When they speak, a connection between the data exchanging channels is quickly established.

Benefits:

It reduces the phone bill. It is possible to transmit more than one phone call over the same phone line. It is a customized corporate PBX system that gives your company a better image. It is possible to communicate with your company national and international premises at no cost.
